Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) Training: A dynamic, professional approach to promoting nurturing touch with families from the leading organization in infant massage – INFANT MASSAGE USA®
As an International Trainer Candidate for the International Association of Infant Massage, I am happy to offer the 4-day comprehensive course that covers all aspects of instructing parents on nurturing touch for infants. Our curriculum focuses on touch as a tool for bonding and attachment, the many developmental benefits of nurturing touch (stimulation, relief, relaxation and interaction), behavioral states, infant cues and communication, crying, and more. You will learn how to work with parents with typically developing babies, babies born premature and babies with special needs, and will have the opportunity to practice and work with families as part of the training. This is ideal training if you are looking to reach out to families in your community, or through your work or practice.
To become certified as a CEIM, you must attend the entire 4 day training and will then have several months to complete a few assignments, instruct five families over five weeks and submit their evaluations. As a CEIM, you become a full member of Infant Massage USA® and will be recognized by the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) headquartered in Sweden. Our organization has chapters or representatives in over 60 countries around the world and was founded by and is still supported today by Vimala McClure, author of Infant Massage, A Handbook for Loving Parents.

Our training is available to health care professionals such as massage therapists, nurses, doulas, midwives, OTs, PTs, social workers, child life specialists, NICU staff, infant mental health professionals, early childhood educators and community participants.
What Students Need to Bring:
Students should be dressed comfortably (some of each day will be spent on the floor), and should bring a yoga mat (in addition, a pillow or cushion may be brought for comfort if needed), a notebook/pen, and a soft bodied doll (body, arms and legs MUST be cloth while head, hands and feet may be plastic) that is at least 20-22” long. The doll is critical to this training as our work is on dolls only, parents ONLY work with their own babies. It can be purchased from the warehouse of the Infant Massage USA website, online, or at local toy stores. Lots to Cuddle® Doll or La Baby® are recommended brands.
Also, on three of the four days, local families will be invited to attend our training for a one hour class each day. I will need assistance from training participants in the local area in recruiting mothers/fathers with babies ages 6 weeks to crawling for these classes.
